Volunteers Needed: ArtsinStark Seeks Grant Review Panelists

In the coming weeks the ArtsinStark team will be preparing to convene peer review panels for grant applications submitted to the ArtsImpact and ArtsBuild programs. We would be grateful for your help in identifying members of the community to serve as reviewers for this year’s proposals.

This is a terrific opportunity for members of the community who are invested in the arts to volunteer their time to ensure that the funds raised through the Campaign for the Arts are distributed to organizations and projects that will have the most positive impact on Stark County. All panelists will be vetted for conflicts of interest and will be expected to maintain confidentiality throughout the process.

Each panelist invited to serve can expect the following:

  • To be assigned up to 15 proposals to review
  • To complete a scoring rubric and provide notes in advance of the panel
  • To participate in one virtual, 3-4 hour panel meeting (dates based on panelist availability)
  • To submit final scores and notes following the panel review

There may be an opportunity for staff of organizations that have submitted proposals to serve as reviewers for a set of proposals that does not include their own, and there is no limit on the number of individuals from any one organization who can express interest in participating. Panel service is often a great professional development experience for staff working in programming, community engagement, fundraising, and administration.

Please share this email with your networks and encourage anyone you think would be a strong reviewer to apply. Interested individuals should fill out the expression of interest form which includes a place to share professional and artistic credentials by using:

Thank you again for your effort in completing your proposals, and for helping us spread the word.
