The North Canton Playhouse announces auditions for “The Wedding Singer”

Come back with us to the 1980’s! It’s 1985 and Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of the party until his own fiancé leaves him at the altar.  Will he finally find the right girl? Find out as we take a wild ride through the 80’s with pop songs and big hair-dos!
 
 
WHEN: SATURDAY, AUGUST 11, 2018

WHERE: North Canton Playhouse (525 – 7th St. NE), N. Canton, OH (located at Hoover High School) Hint: Do not use Mapquest as it will take you to the wrong place.
WHO: Ages 13-18 years (up to 19 years if you are still in high school)
 
After you register, you will receive additional details, such as the required song excerpts to sing at auditions, as well as an audition form to fill out.
 
Make sure you don’t have conflicts with the rehearsal and performance schedule (see below) BEFORE you audition.
 
Note: Because this is a “Director’s Special” production for seniors, most female leads will be cast with seniors. However, this is the type of cast where just about everyone plays many supporting roles. You will be changing costumes frequently and running on stage to play many roles throughout the show!
Rehearsal Schedule for The Wedding Singer
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 7-9pm, August 20–October 4.
Dress Rehearsals for The Wedding Singer
Sunday, Oct. 7, 2pm until done(9p-ish); Monday–Wednesday, October 8–10 from 6-until done (9:30-ish)
Performances – October 11–28, 2018
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm; Sundays at 2:30pm

  • Event must be open to the public. No private events.
  • Event can be free or ticketed but must include a link to a website or social media event where more information is available. 
  • Event must be submitted at least one week prior to the start date.
