School of Canton Ballet Now Enrolling Summer Classes

School of Canton Ballet summer classes are a great way for current students to improve their
level of training and for new students to enter the ballet school program. Classes for all ages
are offered from June 21- July 30. The program includes a full range of classical ballet plus other
dance styles. There are scholarships available for boys. Masking, limited class sizes, daily
sanitizing, and social distancing are practiced throughout our facility. Get more information and
register online at or call 330-455-7220.

Workshops include 2-week PreBallet Workshop, June 29-July 8 on Tuesday and Thursday 10am
– 12 pm; 3-week Elementary Intensive Workshop, July 13-29 on Tuesday and Thursday from
10am-1pm; Junior Intensive Workshop for incoming Elementary 3, Intermediate 1 & 1AP, July
12-30 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9am- 1pm; 5-week Intensive Workshop for
Intermediate 2 & 2AP through advanced students, June 28-July 30.

Summer classes provide time for serious ballet study. Free from the pressures and concerns of
school and other activities, dancers can relax and concentrate on improving their technique
while experiencing different instructors, different styles of dance, and learning more about their
art form.

In Early Childhood Division Creative Movement I/2 classes led by Mrs. Grasse- for 4-5-year-olds
from 9:15–10 am on Tuesdays June 23-July 28, children learn to release their imagination
through rhythm and music and to enjoy the magic as well as the discipline of movement.
One very special happening is the Wizard of Oz dance camp for ages 4-5 on June 21 & 22. It
offers creative movement classes led by early childhood specialist Julie Mizer Grasse. Students
will make fun crafts and enjoy healthy snacks.

Teen and adult ballet classes on Wednesdays 7-8:15 pm are for ages 14 and older just
beginning or wishing to return to dance study.

School of Canton Ballet faculty includes artistic and executive director Cassandra Crowley,
assistant artistic director Jennifer Catazaro Hayward and choreographer in residence Angelo
Lemmo in addition to Grasse. Guest teachers for the Intensive are Megan Seemann jazz/tap
and Kelli Sanford modern dance.
