Poetry Out Loud Teacher Workshop
The Massillon Museum has been named the Ohio Arts Council’s Northeast Ohio regional partner for Poetry Out Loud. A partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, Poetry Foundation, and the state and jurisdictional arts agencies, Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high schools across the country.
On Saturday, October 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Museum will host a workshop for teachers who are interested in having their classes participate in the program. Visit PoetryOutLoud.org to learn more about the program.
This workshop is geared toward educators who are interested in hosting a Poetry Out Loud competition at their public, private, or parochial high school. Attendees are able to join the workshop in person at the Massillon Museum or via Zoom. Light refreshments will be provided to in-person attendees. Visit Eventbrite.com/e/406869606947 to register.
Educators interested in free childcare available at the Museum during the workshop should email POL@MassillonMuseum.org.
The Massillon Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council and ArtsinStark, as well as marketing support from Visit Canton. This project was funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
