MasterWorks Concert Series:

SCHEHERAZADE

Sunday, January 22nd at 7:00PM

On January 22nd at 7:00pm, we will present SCHEHERAZADE! This concert is all about storytelling through the lens of music. We will feature a world premiere by American composer Quinn Mason and a stunning solo performance by Canadian pianist Sheng Cai.

Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade” is inspired by a collection of Arabian folktales called “One Thousand and One Nights,” and named after its narrator. The character Scheherazade was a master storyteller and her life literally depended on it. Her husband was a powerful king who scorned women, as his previous wives were all murdered before they could prove to be unfaithful. Scheherazade avoided this fate by telling him a series of stories and leaving them on a cliffhanger night after night to stay her potential execution.

Hear Scheherazade’s story told through classical music! Tickets start at $10 and are available by calling our box office at 330-452-2094 or by visiting the link below. Children and students attend at no cost.
