MassMu’s Free July Do the Mu—Paper Koi Fish
Join the Massillon Museum on Saturday, July 1, for Do the Mu. Instructor Kat Francis will teach attendees how to make paper koi fish. All ages and ability levels are welcome and all supplies will be provided. Guests can drop in anytime between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.
Kat Francis, a mixed media artist, earned an MFA at Columbus College of Art and a BFA at The Ohio State University. In her work, she honestly, yet playfully, illustrates American history and daily life. She observes and creates in a collage-like manner to illustrate reflections on modern life. Moving frequently and learning to adapt to new places, Francis has a deep appreciation for unique surroundings and storytelling.
Do the Mu is a free monthly drop-in, hands-on intergenerational outlet for creativity. The Massillon Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council, ArtsinStark, and the citizens of Massillon. This workshop is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
MassMu is located at 121 Lincoln Way East (Ohio Route 172) in downtown Massillon. It is open during regular hours Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A visit is always free. For more information, call the Museum at 330-833-4061 or visit MassillonMuseum.org.
