MassMu to Extend Hours Twice in July

Massillon Museum visitors will have two opportunities in July to see the galleries during extended hours. A visit to MassMu is always free.

Galleries will remain open until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, in collaboration with the City of Massillon’s Ice Cream Social next to the Museum in Duncan Plaza, which will be followed by a Canton Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet concert.

Hours will also be extended until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, in cooperation with Massillon’s “Last Saturday” event.

Guests will be able to see Missing History of Massillon: Unheard African American Stories in the Aultman Health Foundation Gallery; the Paul Brown and Massillon Tiger timeline in the Paul Brown Museum; and nine additional galleries.  The 1916 Massillon-manufactured Russell steam engine can be seen in the garden on City Hall Street all summer.

MassMu receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council and ArtsinStark as well as marketing support from Visit Canton.  These events are funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Regular Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Massillon Museum is located at 121 Lincoln Way East in downtown Massillon. Free parking is available on adjacent streets and in nearby city lots. For more information, call the Museum at 330-833-4061 or visit MassillonMuseum.org.
