MassMu to Extend Hours for Thursday’s Tailgate Party

MassMu to Extend Hours for Thursday’s Tailgate Party

The Massillon Museum will remain open until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, when Massillon LIVE, the City of Massillon, and Downtown Massillon Association will host a tailgate party in Duncan Plaza to fire up for Friday’s Massillon vs Valdosta football game. A visit to the Museum is free and everyone is welcome.

Visitors will be able to view a new exhibition, A Way to Win: Paul Brown’s Innovations, in the Paul Brown Museum within the Massillon Museum. It illustrates the influence of Brown’s ideas and implementation that continue in football today.

Among artifacts are Brown’s Great Lakes Naval Academy sideline jacket; game film from the 1930s; Ohio State University locker room posters; original artwork commissioned specifically for Paul Brown during his lifetime, as well as the official portrait created for the OSU Athletic Hall of Fame induction by Westerville, Ohio, artist Greg Storer.

Visitors can also see the Paul Brown/Massillon Tiger Football History Timeline and many other history and art galleries.

The Museum is also partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Massillon and the Ohio Tiger Academy to host children’s activities on the lawn.

The Massillon Museum is grateful for operating support from the Ohio Arts Council, ArtsinStark, and the citizens of Massillon, as well as marketing support from Visit Canton. A Way to Win is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Massillon Museum is located at 121 Lincoln Way East in downtown Massillon. Free parking is available on adjacent streets and in nearby city lots.  For more information, call 330-833-4061 or visit massillonmuseum.org.
