MassMu Presents Do the Mu—Free Neurographic Drawing Workshop

MassMu Presents Do the Mu—Free Neurographic Drawing Workshop

Visit the Massillon Museum on Saturday, April 6, for Do the Mu—a neurographic drawing workshop with Sue Scheetz. Participants of all ages are invited to stop in any time between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.

Neurographic drawing is a simple way to work with the subconscious mind through drawing, stimulating new neural pathways by combining art and psychology. Neurographic drawings flow around the page blending into other lines or shapes like circles.

Instructor Sue Scheetz is a retired educator who taught for 35 years at Fairless Local Schools, the last 22 in fourth grade. Scheetz received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Kent State University.

This month’s workshop, funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), is part of MassMu’s 2024 NEA Big Read, featuring the book Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. An initiative of the NEA in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. To learn more about the national program, visit arts.gov/neabigread.

Do the Mu is a free monthly hands-on intergenerational outlet for creativity. The Massillon Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council, ArtsinStark, and the citizens of Massillon.

MassMu is located at 121 Lincoln Way East (Ohio Route 172) in downtown Massillon.  It is open during regular hours Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A visit is always free.
