The presentation will be based on the speaker’s book, Quintessential Jack: The Art of Jack Nicholson on Screen, which was released in 2017 by North Carolina-based academic film studies publisher McFarland & Company. Books will be available for sale and signing following the program.
Edwards, an advertising creative director and copywriter, studied communications and film history at The University of Pennsylvania. He has attended many industry events, including The Cannes Film Festival, The Toronto International Film Festival, and The Cleveland International Film Festival. He has presented Quintessential Jack at the 50th anniversary of the Cinevent classic film festival in Columbus, Ohio, and was part of a panel discussion at a Barnes & Noble in Nicholson’s home state of New Jersey; introduced Nicholson’s film The Border at the Cleveland Cinematheque art film and repertory theatre; was an official selection for the Ohioana festival of authors; and has conducted book signings in Hollywood, the Midwest, and the Northeast.
Edwards has an extensive collection of cinema collectibles and memorabilia, which began when he entered the movie business at age eleven changing marquees, selling popcorn, and sweeping aisles at a small neighborhood theatre managed by his father in upstate New York.
