Harpist Nancy Patterson Speaks at ConverZations

The Canton Symphony Orchestra welcomes harpist, Nancy Patterson to the monthly ConverZations series on Dec. 10th at Zimmermann Symphony Center at noon.  Nancy has been Principal Harpist with the Canton Symphony Orchestra for 40 years, and has a wealth of knowledge on her instrument.  Often seen as a daunting and overly complicated instrument, Nancy hopes to educate the audience about the harp and remove some of the mystery behind all of its strings and pedals.
Nancy Paterson has also appeared as a soloist with the Canton Symphony as well as  a soloist or chamber musician in New York, Texas, and Michigan. As an orchestral musician, she has played for the Cleveland Orchestra, the Blossom Festival Orchestra, Akron Symphony, Pittsburgh Opera, and the Youngstown Symphony, as well as the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Ms. Paterson received a Bachelor of Music degree in harp performance from Kent State University and has also studied with Alice Chalifoux at the Salzedo School in Camden, Maine.
ConverZations is a series of free public discussions, held at the Zimmermann Symphony Center (2331 17th Street NW) and scheduled the second Monday of every month through April 2019.  Attendees are invited to bring their lunch to the lecture, and the CSO provides coffee and light desserts.  For more information on upcoming ConverZations lectures and other Canton Symphony Orchestra events, visit www.cantonsymphony.org.
