Genius

Northeast Ohio GENIUS PROJECT for Schools

Established in 2014 The NE Ohio Genius Project has challenged the minds of students from Stark, Summit, Portage, Tuscarawas, Columbiana and Mahoning county.  This 9 week project  seeks to ignite the genius that resides in all young people by utilizing multiple academic standards including but not limited to math, science, art and financial literacy.  Genius Team members will grow in problem solving skills, creative thinking and project management as they work collectively to complete the challenge.

Early in the spring semester participating schools will receive a sealed Genius Box to be opened in schools across NE Ohio at a specified date containing the materials necessary to complete the project.  Prior to the challenge start date participants will also need the following:

1 Teacher (Genius Coach) to guide students and act as the liaison for AIS.

$200 per team(s) of 4-6 students grades 6-8 (limit 5 teams per building)

1-2 hrs. weekly to work on project; during science, math, art, or before or after school.

All Genius Project finalists, their families, teachers and administrators are invited to attend the Genius Rally on week 10 in the Great Court of the Cultural Center for the Arts in downtown Canton. During the 2 hr. event projects will be judged, trophies will be awarded, free pizza and drinks will be consumed and all students will leave with a participation gift.
