Canton’s “Sudden Death Mural” Gets 48 Hour Stay of Execution

Because of building prep issues, the “Sudden Death Mural” (next to the ArtsinStark offices on the corner of 9th and  Cleveland Ave NW Canton, OH), is getting a 48 hour stay of execution.  The Building demo has been moved to Thursday, May 9 at 9:30 am. The temporary artwork on the building was created by Steve Ehret and Kat Francis.  It was only meant to “live” for five days — but will now get seven days.  “It has always been our plan to demolish this building,” says ArtsinStark CEO Robb Hankins, “Steve and Kat understood this and agreed to help us send out the message that public art is important, but fragile, and needs our support.” The public is invited to come watch the building come down, and the “Sudden Death Mural” with it, on Thursday morning.
