The Canton Symphony Orchestra is proud to present, “Measuring Music”, for this season’s Young People’s Concerts. The Young People’s Concerts (YPC) are a chance for some of our youngest fans to experience a live orchestra concert, while learning important mathematical concepts and enjoying the music. This year the dates for the Young People’s Concerts are on October 16 and 17, at 9:45am and 11am each day.
Each year the Canton Symphony Orchestra uses the Young People’s Concert to explore a different educational concept for young audience members in grades 3-5. This year the program focuses on Ohio’s Learning Standards for English Language Arts as well as Music. The CSO will demonstrate how music and math are related and intertwined through a full orchestral performance.
The Young People’s Concerts are held in Umstattd Performing Arts Hall, located in the Zimmermann Symphony Center at 2331 17th St. NW, Canton, 44708. These concerts are FREE to the public and students, but reservations are required. Reservations can be made online at cantonsymphony.org, over the phone at 330-452-2094, or in person at our box office located at the same address. These concerts are put on through the generous sponsorship of The Hoover Foundation.
