24-Hour Theatre Comes to Canton, Ohio

Avenue Arts Marketplace and Theatre is proud to present the first annual Canton’s 24-Hour Theatre at the Kathleen Howland Theatre in the lower level of Avenue Arts Marketplace & Theatre for one night only on September 14 at 8:00 p.m.

Avenue Arts Marketplace and Theatre’s Producing Artistic Director, David Lee, and Malone University’s Director of Theatre, Tammie McKenzie will work together to orchestrate 24-Hour Theatre. This event will allow artists to collaborate and work together to bring a piece of work to life in a limited amount of time. Writers, directors, production teams, and actors will work together to cast, write, rehearse, produce, tech and perform a 10-minute play in 24 HOURS!

Auditions for this event will be held at 8pm on September 13 to get the ball rolling. 12 local playwrights will work together throughout the night to create four 10- minute plays that will then be rehearsed and produced by the directors and actors of the community throughout the next day, culminating in the performances of the final products that evening – with a special musical performance by Ethan Peterson to kick of the evenings festivities. Tickets for 24 Hour Theatre can be purchased online at www.avenuearts.org, at the door the day of the event or by calling 234-410-3475 during business hours.

Avenue Arts Marketplace & Theatre is located at 324 Cleveland Ave. NW Canton, Ohio 44702.
