Live Music Downtown
Live Music Downtown offers $25,000 in partnership grants to generate awareness and cultural tourism activity in Stark County.
Stark County, Ohio- Live Music Downtown is a joint project created by the Stark County Convention and Visitors Bureau and ArtsinStark to promote live music in city centers across Stark County to create tourism in our downtowns. The program includes $25,000 in grants and free consulting on how to book musicians and make your special event a success. “Live music is a wonderful strategy for downtown revitalization,” says ArtsinStark, CEO Robb Hankins. “Live music, when connected to special events like festivals, is a great way to attract visitors,” says Allyson Bussey, Interim Executive Director of the Stark County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The two organizations will offer mini-grants of up to $250 to underwrite musician fees for downtown special events. Any organization in Stark County hosting live music for a special downtown event from now- August 30, 2016 is eligible for assistance from Live Music Downtown.
Organizations may receive up to three mini grants of up to $250 each. The same musician or band may be the beneficiary of up to ten such mini grants to help cover their fees. In addition, Live Music Downtown is also providing complimentary services including:
1) consultation for securing musicians
2) help in negotiating fees
3) sample contracts
4) promotion of the event on the Live Music Downtown marketing platforms of the CVB and ArtsinStark.
